Dean Jones confirms that Tottenham want to sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
Dean Jones, a reliable insider in the world of football transfers, has claimed on his YouTube channel that Tottenham Hotspur are actively seeking to offload their talented midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg during the upcoming summer transfer window.
It has been suggested that Hojbjerg’s playing style might not align with the vision that the newly appointed manager, Ange Postecoglou, aims to implement at Tottenham. This uncertainty surrounding his future has inevitably raised questions about whether he will remain a part of the club’s plans moving forward.
The 27-year-old joined Tottenham after catching the attention of the club with his impressive performances during his time at Southampton. During his tenure at Spurs, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has emerged as one of the team’s standout performers, exhibiting unwavering consistency and reliability in the heart of midfield.
Dean Jones, speaking to the Chasing The Transfer, expressed his belief that Hojbjerg’s departure from Tottenham this summer is imminent.
“Yeah, I do. The writing is on the wall there. I think a decision is basically made. I don’t really have much more to add to that one.”
Graeme Bailey also suggested that the Danish midfielder’s sizable salary could make him an attractive prospect for clubs in Saudi Arabia, given his age and experience. Hojbjerg has been a great servant for the club though.
If Tottenham decide to part ways with Hojbjerg, they can expect a sizable transfer fee given his consistently impressive performances and the two years remaining on his current contract. It would be funds that they could invest elsewhere.
While it is disheartening for Tottenham fans to see such a key player potentially departing the club, it is crucial to trust the judgment of the manager and the board in shaping the team’s future.
Postecoglou’s appointment heralds a new era for the North London side, and his strategic decisions will undoubtedly shape the trajectory of the team in the seasons to come. Tottenham must back him to the hilt.

If Hojbjerg is not in the manager’s plans, it makes sense to sell him. But it would nonetheless be a surprise to see one of our pinned starters leave in such a manner. If Postecoglou wants a defensive midfielder, they hardly come better than PEH. But he is technically limited, however, and lacks speed.
