Sami Mokbel claims Tottenham Hotspur still hold interest in Harvey Barnes

Speaking to the Last Word on Spurs, Daily Mail journalist Sami Mokbel has spoken about the interest in Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes which includes Tottenham Hotspur.

According to Mokbel, Barnes is on the radar of several Premier League clubs, but the talented winger would allegedly snub Spurs in favour of their rivals Aston Villa and West Ham United among other clubs.

Tottenham have already made a significant signing this summer, securing the services of James Maddison from Leicester City for a bargain fee of £40m. The midfield maestro has already started to impress the Spurs faithful, leaving them hopeful for a promising season ahead.

This indicated the North London club’s determination to bolster their attacking options, recognizing the immense talent possessed by Barnes. However, it seems that Harvey Barnes has reservations about joining Tottenham.

The reason behind his reluctance to choose Spurs lies in the fierce competition for playing time. Tottenham already boasts an array of attacking talent, including the likes of Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski, and Richarlison.

In an interview with the Last Word on Spurs, Sami Mokbel shed light on Barnes’ potential move, stating,

“Harvey Barnes has a number of options, and while he would be attracted to Tottenham, he may look at that and think, ‘Wait a minute, how often am I going to play here?'”

Harvey Barnes excels on the left flank, a position where Son and Richarlison are expected to start for Spurs, with Kulusevski occupying the right-wing role. Additionally, Tottenham has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Manor Solomon, a promising left winger, further adding to the competition for places in the starting lineup.

As the race for Barnes’ signature heats up, the club that manages to secure his services will undoubtedly be gaining a top-class talent. Whether he chooses to join Tottenham, Aston Villa, or West Ham, Barnes has the potential to make a significant impact on his new team.
