Fabrizio Romano claims Galatasaray have sent a verbal bid for Tottenham star Davinson Sanchez
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Turkish giants Galatasaray have submitted a verbal proposal to Tottenham for the talented defender, Davinson Sanchez.
The bid, reportedly worth €9m, indicate that Galatasaray are keen on acquiring the services of the Colombian international, while Tottenham are said to be open to the possibility of letting him go.
Sanchez’s journey at Tottenham began in 2017 when he arrived for a hefty fee of €42m, making him one of the club’s most expensive signings. Back then, he was touted as one of Europe’s brightest young defenders, poised for a remarkable career.
However, things haven’t unfolded as expected for the 27-year-old, as he has struggled to cement his place in the starting lineup. His form has been inconsistent at best and horrible at worst.
It is no secret that Sanchez has exhibited flashes of his potential during his time at Tottenham. Nonetheless, consistency has eluded him, leaving supporters and the coaching staff yearning for more. A fresh start at a new club could prove to be the catalyst he needs to reignite his form and restore his self-belief.
While Galatasaray have shown interest in securing Sanchez’s services, Romano hints that there are a few other clubs vying for his signature as well. This situation places the final decision firmly in the hands of the Colombian defender, who must carefully weigh his options and decide on the next chapter of his career.
For Tottenham, parting ways with Sanchez could be a prudent move, especially considering that his current contract is set to expire next year. With potential suitors in the mix, the North London club has an opportunity to recoup a significant portion of their initial investment.
Sanchez’s tenure at Tottenham has been filled with promise and occasional disappointment. While he possesses undeniable talent that could flourish at the highest level, circumstances have conspired against him at Spurs.
