Agent of Tottenham Hotspur star Davinson Sanchez confirms Galatasaray transfer talks
Tottenham’s summer transformation under the guidance of new manager Ange Postecoglou is well underway. The focus has primarily been on bolstering the squad, with the club already announcing the signings of four new players.
However, another crucial aspect of this rebuilding process is the anticipated departures of several individuals. One player who is set to bid farewell to North London is Davinson Sanchez, who has emerged as a target for Turkish powerhouses Galatasaray.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano recently disclosed that Galatasaray has tabled a verbal proposal of €9m to Tottenham for the Colombian defender. It appears that the Spurs hierarchy is open to parting ways with Sanchez.
Echoing these sentiments, representatives of the 27-year-old have corroborated the likelihood of a move to Galatasaray. In an interview with Sports Digitale, the player’s agent expressed optimism
“There is a good possibility of the player moving to Galatasaray. The news is true”
They further revealed that finalizing the deal would necessitate bridging the gap in salary expectations and securing Tottenham’s final approval. Fortunately, the latter is unlikely to pose a problem as Tottenham has already indicated their willingness to let him go.
The Colombian centre-back has struggled to replicate the form that had once made him an enticing prospect. Consequently, a change of scenery might be the best course of action for him. A fresh start at a new club could provide the impetus he needs to rediscover his confidence and form.
Meanwhile, Tottenham’s recruitment team is actively pursuing defensive reinforcements. Two players who have been heavily linked to the club are Micky van de Ven and Edmond Tapsoba. There are other names on the radar too.
The acquisition of these young centre-backs would not only add depth to the squad but also inject a sense of competition, motivating the remaining defenders to raise their game. Postecoglou’s commitment to bolstering the defensive line is an encouraging sign.
