Strasbourg have opened talks for Tottenham defender Davinson Sanchez

Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Davinson Sanchez has become the subject of significant interest, with Strasbourg being the latest club to throw their hat into the ring for the Colombian’s signature.

It seems the defender’s six-year stint in the heart of N17 is nearing its conclusion. The club are intent on shipping him out this summer as his performances have not been up to the mark in recent seasons.

As the summer transfer window approaches, the hunt for Sanchez’s services has intensified, with several prominent clubs showing genuine eagerness to secure his services. It might mean that Tottenham won’t find it difficult to ship him out.

The attraction to Davinson Sanchez is understandable, given his defensive prowess and experience in the Premier League. Tottenham fans have witnessed his growth and development over the years and have also seen his downfalls.

Galatasaray and Spartak Moscow have already tabled offers for Sanchez, hoping to tempt Tottenham into a deal. The Turkish giants put forward an initial offer of €9m, while Spartak Moscow came in with a bid worth €10m.

Now, it seems Strasbourg have thrown their hat into the ring, hoping to bolster their defensive ranks with the addition of the Colombian centre-back. The French club have initiated talks with Tottenham, exploring the possibility of a transfer deal.

Sanchez’s departure could pave the way for a reshaping of the backline, allowing promising young talents to step into the limelight. It will be an opportunity for players like Japhet Tanganga to finally come to the forefront.

On the other hand, Strasbourg fans will be eager to welcome a defender of Sanchez’s calibre into their ranks. With an eye on consolidating their position in Ligue 1 and possibly aiming for European qualification, the addition of a proven Premier League defender could be a significant coup.

At this point, Tottenham just want Sanchez off their hands. The fact that he has interest helps but they still can’t expect a big transfer fee for him.
