Giovani Lo Celso could stay at Tottenham Hotspur this summer amidst transfer interest
Tottenham Hotspur have left the door open regarding the future of Giovani Lo Celso in the ongoing transfer window, according to Spanish outlet Marca.
The Argentina international has been linked with a move away from the North London side this summer. To that end, the likes of Barcelona, Real Betis, Napoli and Premier League rivals Aston Villa are interested in him.
However, Spurs have not ruled out keeping a hold of the midfielder this summer. At the moment, Ange Postecouglou is looking at the 27-year-old’s performances and could opt to keep him.
Lo Celso returned to Tottenham this summer after his loan spell with Villarreal. The Argentine featured for the North London side in the friendly against West Ham United on 18 July in Perth, Australia.
Spurs were trailing 2-0 at half-time before the gaffer made a host of changes that included the arrival of the 27-year-old on the pitch. The midfielder put in a good performance and found the back of the net before Destiny Udogie equalised for us.
Unfortunately, the Hammers were able to take the lead once again towards the end of the game. However, Lo Celso did make a case for himself in the team with a fine display.
At Tottenham, in the middle of the park, the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Yves Bissouam, Oliver Skipp, Rodrigo Bentancur and Pape Matar Sarr are at Postecouglou’s disposal for now.
Tanguy Ndombele has also returned this summer from his loan spell at Napoli. Thus, the Argentine would arguably add more quality in depth at the North London side.
