Davinson Sanchez expected to reject Spartak Moscow switch from Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez is expected to reject a move to Spartak Moscow in the ongoing transfer window, according to The Guardian.
The Colombia international is set to part ways with the North London side this summer. To that end, a number of teams are interested in acquiring the defender’s services.
As things stand, the Russian Premier League club have offered the Lilywhites €12 million plus add-ons for the centre-back. Spurs have accepted the Otkritie Bank Arena side’s proposal for the 27-year-old.
However, with the tense situation between Russia and Ukraine, it would not be a surprise to see Sanchez opt against a move to Spartak. It remains to be seen where the defender will land next.
Tottenham signed the Colombian in the summer of 2017. After a few decent seasons at the North London side, the centre-back’s form started to dip. Subsequently, the 27-year-old lost his place in the team.
Injuries have not helped Sanchez’s cause over the years, either. In the previous campaign, the Colombian made 24 appearances in all competitions for the Lilywhites, starting in just eight Premier League matches.
The defender was also booed by the home supporters in our 3-2 loss to Bournemouth back in April. In the 2022/23 campaign, the 27-year-old put in a number of poor displays.
However, Spurs looked fragile overall at the back last season. The likes of Eric Dier, Ben Davies and Clement Lenglet struggled for consistency as well. Cristian Romero, who is usually our best defender, was not at his best, either.

But it seems like Sanchez’s time at Tottenham is coming to an end. The Colombian has had a hard time getting regular game time at Spurs. Therefore, it would be wise for both parties to part ways with each other this summer.
