Manchester United reject West Ham’s £20m bid for Tottenham target Harry Maguire
Tottenham Hotspur would be boosted by the news that Manchester United have rejected West Ham United’s £20million bid for Harry Maguire.
According to the Athletic (Subscription Required), the Hammers are keen to reinvest some of the £105million they pocketed from Declan Rice’s sale. They earmarked Maguire to bolster their defence.
But it seems unlikely that they will pursue the 30-year-old after the Red Devils’ latest rejection. Tottenham have been linked with Maguire this summer.

West Ham’s failed bid would give Spurs an idea of what Man United could want for Maguire, who they signed for an eye-watering sum of £80million from Leicester City four years ago.
What should Spurs do?
He failed to gain Erik ten Hag’s trust last season. He has lost his captaincy to Bruno Fernandes and has fallen below Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof at the back.
Tottenham should now look to move for Maguire and add him to their backline which is crying out for a quality defender alongside Cristian Romero. Maguire isn’t the best defender in the league.
But he still has physical and aerial dominance that can help us at both ends of the pitch. He is also a capable leader and can complement Romero quite well at the back.
You don’t play regularly for three seasons at Manchester United if you’re not good. Granted he has made
high-profile mistakes in recent seasons but Ange Postecoglou can use a specialist, experienced centre-back like him in the ranks.More Tottenham Hotspur News
