Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur interested in Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Jesper Lindstrom
Tottenham Hotspur and Premier League rivals Newcastle United are interested in Eintracht Frankfurt star Jesper Lindstrom, according to Ekstra Bladet via Sport Witness (h/t Metro).
Spurs and the Magpies are looking to acquire the midfielder’s services this summer. However, the North London side and the Tyneside outfit are not the only teams with the 23-year-old on their radar.
In the English top flight, Liverpool and Arsenal are the other teams linked with him. Serie A giants Napoli, Juventus and Inter Milan are also keeping tabs on the Denmark international.
As things stand, RB Leipzig are the team who have taken the most concrete step to acquire the services of Lindstrom. The Bundesliga outfit have made an offer of around £22 million to get a hold of the midfielder’s signature.
However, Eintracht want between £35–£40 million to part ways with him in the ongoing transfer window. Therefore, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the Danish national.
Lindstrom signed for the Frankfurt-based club in the summer of 2021 from Brondby. He is a versatile player capable of playing in several attacking positions. In the previous campaign, featuring mostly as a number 10, the midfielder made 38 appearances in all competitions for Die Adler, scoring nine goals and providing four assists.
Newcastle have already bolstered their engine room with the arrival of Sandro Tonali from AC Milan this summer. Eddie Howe also has Bruno Guimaraes at his disposal. Joelinton has also thrived in the middle of the park in the last few seasons.
As for Tottenham, we have added James Maddison to our ranks from Leicester City in the ongoing transfer window. Our midfield also boasts Rodrigo Bentancur.
