Nottingham Forest are interested in a move for Tottenham star Davinson Sanchez
According to the Daily Mail, Nottingham Forest are interested in making a move for out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Davinson Sanchez.
Tottenham have been desperately trying to sell Sanchez ever since the beginning of the transfer window and the Colombian defender also seems to be willing to leave the club this summer.
A number of clubs have been linked with the player who was once touted to become a Tottenham star but none of the moves have formalized yet. The latest one to enter the race is Nottingham Forest.
When Tottenham signed Davinson Sanchez all those years ago, everyone expected the defender to become a star for the club. He had all the raw material required to become a top-tier talent but things could not have been more different.
Injuries and inconsistency have been two things that have haunted the centre-back and not allowed him to reach the heights expected of him. However, with age still on his side, it is not too late.
A fresh start at a new club in new surroundings could just be what the player needs to completely transform his career and maybe a move to a less pressure environment might really help him thrive.
Tottenham need new central defenders at the club. The likes of Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier and Ben Davies have not inspired much confidence and the club is yet to sign even a single player for this position.
Will Sanchez have a renaissance if he moves to a new club? Only time can answer that. However, this is a marriage that has not worked for either party and it is time for both the club and the player to part ways.
