Stade Rennais have Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele on their radar
Tottenham Hotspur star Tanguy Ndombele is on the radar of Stade Rennais in the ongoing transfer window, according to French outlet Le10Sport.
The Ligue 1 outfit are considering acquiring the services of the 26-year-old this summer. Alongside former Chelsea star Tiemoue Bakayoko, the former Olympique Lyon star is also an option for the Roazhon Park side.
As things stand, Rennes are in discussions regarding Ndombele. To that end, the Ligue 1 outfit are gathering information on the midfielder’s situation at the North London side and could get him on loan.
However, apart from the Roazhon Park side, the French national is also attracting interest from Turkey and Saudi Arabia. But a potential move back to his home country could be an enticing proposition for the former Lyon star.
Tottenham signed Ndombele in the summer of 2019 for €65 million. The midfielder still has almost two years left on his contract at the club. Therefore, it is understandable that the Lilywhites want to recoup some of the money they spent.
However, the French national has not lived up to the expectations at Tottenham. In January 2022, he rejoined Lyon on loan but was unable to make a mark at the Ligue 1 outfit.
Ndombele subsequently spent the 2022/23 term at Napoli on a temporary move. He was unable to break into Luciano Spalletti’s team in Naples. But the midfielder still ended up lifting the Scudetto with the Partenopei in the previous campaign.
At Tottenham, Ange Postecoglou has a fair number of midfielders at his disposal. Yves Bissouma showcased his best against Brentford last weekend in the 2-2 draw. The Australian can also call upon the likes of Oliver Skipp. Giovani Lo Celso, Pape Matar Sarr and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for now.
