Borussia Dortmund eyeing possible move for Tottenham Hotspur outcast

Manchester United target Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon, Fulham also keen

As per a transfer exclusive from Matt Law and James Ducker for The Telegraph (subscription required), Manchester United are eyeing a move for Tottenham Hotspur left-back Sergio Reguilon before the deadline of this window.

They have kept Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella and Barcelona’s Marcos Alonso on the list as well to cover up for the loss of Luke Shaw to a long-term injury. The England international is expected to be out till November while his understudy Tyrell Malacia is also out.

But, the thing to note regarding Reguilon is that Fulham are also targeting a move for the Spaniard. If the tweet from Matt Law is to be believed, their interest in the Tottenham player is far advanced than United’s. Things can change of course with the transfer window deadline not far away.

It won’t be a surprise seeing Reguilon leave the club this summer. He was linked with a move to Real Sociedad before they decided to make a move for Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney instead.

The 26-year-old, who arrived in North London from Real Madrid three years ago, was not been able to cement his place in the side under previous managers.

For that reason, he was sent on loan to Atletico Madrid last season. It seems like Ange Postecoglou also does not have any plans for him here.

While selling the left-back to a fellow Premier League club isn’t ideal as it would bolster them, they can do it for a player who is surplus to requirements.

Spurs are well covered in Reguilon’s position with Destiny Udogie doing well and then there is the experienced duo of Ivan Perisic and Ben Davies to call upon when required.
