Transfer News: Tottenham star among five midfielders being watched by Juventus

Juventus are monitoring Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg amongst other options

When a particular player doesn’t really fit into a manager’s plans, most times, there seems to be no way back for him and one such player who finds himself in a similar scenario at Tottenham Hotspur is Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Ange Postecoglou came to Tottenham Hotspur, took one look at Hojbjerg and decided that the Dane was not the guy he wanted in his midfield. Since then, the former Southampton midfielder has been reduced to a bit-part role.

To be fair to Hojbjerg, he hasn’t done much wrong since making a move to Tottenham. Even in severely underperforming teams, he has always been the one to stand out with his industrious work ethic.

Sadly though, Tottenham are playing well now but Hojbjerg doesn’t seem to be a part of the project. No one can be blamed here – it’s just that Ange Postecoglou has a certain idea about how his midfield must look and the Dane doesn’t fit the jigsaw.

According to ESPN, Juventus are monitoring Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg amongst five potential names to reinforce their midfield in January. The North London club might be willing to sanction a move.

The other names to be a part of that list are Lazar Samardzic, Habib Diarra, Joao Neves and Khephren Thuram. However, the Tottenham midfielder happens to be the priority as things stand.

From Tottenham’s perspective, it is very simple. Make the right offer and Hojbjerg would be free to leave. It doesn’t make sense to hold on to a player as skilled as him when he doesn’t get much game time.

Hojbjerg, if he leaves Tottenham can go out with his head held high. He has been a hero for the club in the dark times and has never really put in a poor performance that one can remember. It is a testament to his dedication.

Let’s see if Juventus make a serious bid for Hojbjerg. If they do, we must accept it and take the cash. It makes much more sense.
