Arsenal legend Ian Wright picks Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou over Man United counterpart Erik ten Hag
We all knew that coping with this season was going to be tough following the loss of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich. However, under Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham have looked a totally different side from before, and have been playing free-flowing attacking football.
The result of this nature of football sees the Lilywhites head the Premier League charts heading into the first international break of the season.
It takes a lot for rivals to accept our positive fortunes, and Ian Wright’s latest statement on how Ange has transformed Spurs is a reflection of the positive impact he has had on the squad since replacing Antonio Conte.
Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast hosted by Gary Neville on Sky Sports, here is what Ian Wright told Roy Keane on the comparisons between Ange and Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag (via football.london):
“Postecoglou man. At the moment? Postecoglou, it shouldn’t even be compared at the minute for what he has done for Tottenham in a short space of time. Amazing stuff. He (Ten Hag) has won a trophy when they weren’t expecting too much, it was about the results. You’re telling me now you start a new season and what are we seeing? Ange has come in under a lot of pressure and he’s showing us that Tottenham are playing a certain way.”
Eight points and nine places separate Tottenham from United. It was a tough time searching for the Mancs from up top here. We are one among two unbeaten sides in the English top-divison at the moment, and that is worth a lot of praise.
Ten Hag, though celebrated for his past successes, faces a contrasting situation at United. The banishing of long-serving club legends coupled with his failure to get consistent results has put him under the radar at the moment.
