America are coming to terms with the idea of Tottenham target Sebastian Caceres leaving soon
Sebastian Caceres is a name that is slowly growing on the lips of the big clubs in European football and Tottenham Hotspur are one of the many clubs following the impressive Uruguayan international.
The central defender has clearly outgrown the league that he is playing in and is now a regular in Marcelo Bielsa’s national team as well. It is only a matter of time before Europe comes calling and it looks like they have.
Diego Alonso, former coach of the Uruguayan team wants to take him to Spain for Sevilla. Obviously, he will know the player all too well and the Spanish club is a good springboard for players looking to move to Europe.
Sebastian Caceres is known not only for his exploits in Mexican soccer but Alonso was the man who started giving him minutes for the national team and he will know all too well about his potential and ceiling.
However, it’s not just Europe who are interested in the player as according to Record.com.mx, Brazilian club Flamengo also are keen on adding the Uruguayan. Whilst they may have the history, we are not sure the player will want to go there.
That brings us to the Premier League and Tottenham Hotspur. The 24-year-old has caught the eye of the North London club and it is said that Spurs are closely watching his development. It is absolutely no secret that they need a central defender.
It is becoming more and more apparent that Caceres won’t be around in Mexico for way too long and it looks like America are coming to terms with the fact that it is only a matter of time before he leaves.
Tottenham right now are lacking depth behind the starting partnership of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero. Signing someone like Caceres will be perfect and we have already seen his levels with the national team.
