Hajduk Split president says Tottenham-bound Luka Vuskovic set for a loan spell
Some time ago, when it was revealed that Tottenham Hotspur had managed to sign Croatian wonderkid Luka Vuskovic beating Manchester City to his signature, not many people knew who he was.
Eventually, it was revealed that the North London club had bagged a gem. The 16-year-old centre-back is a prodigy in his own right and his performances for the Croatian club have left watchers spell-bound.
Whilst it was widely expected that Luka Vuskovic will not come to Tottenham before he turns 18, it gave immense pleasure in knowing that the club were looking at young talents with a very high ceiling.
In fact, ever since Ange Postecoglou became the manager, the team has been brimming with a lot of youth. The Australian tactician is not afraid to field youngsters and it is safe to say that it has paid off so far.
Speaking to Croatian media as quoted by Football. London, Hajduk Split president Lukas Jakobusic has revealed that Tottenham-bound defender Luka Vuskovic will be loaned out in the near future.
“[Vuskovic’s career] is not a question for me. For me, that story with him is over. He stays until January, competing and training with the first team. Continuity until January is important, and then we will agree with Tottenham where he will go on loan because he needs to go to a stronger league due to his visa”
The right loan move is very important for Vuskovic to continue his development. Tottenham will be very keen on finding the right club that mirrors their playstyle to get the Croatian ready for the first-team.
Even after he moves to the N17 at 18, there is a chance that the club loans him out for a season or two just to let him develop. There is no point in throwing him into the deep end and seeing if he can swim out.
The teenager has a lot of things to like about him and it comes as no surprise that he has courted so much interest so far. That said, Tottenham can take pride in the fact that he chose to join them over someone like Man City.
