Tottenham willing to accept initial loan offer for Juventus target Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
At this point, Juventus’ interest in Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is well known. According to Corsport (h/t TuttoJuve), Spurs are willing to sell him in January.
They are apparently open to accepting a loan offer with an obligation to buy from Juve. It remains to be seen if the Italian giants sign the Denmark international over Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips.
The English defensive midfielder is struggling for playing time at Manchester City and Juve are aware of the situation. But the report clarifies that Hojbjerg is seen as the safer option because of his relatively impressive injury record in the last few years.
Paul Pogba’s future at Juventus remains uncertain, which is why Juve are eager to sign a replacement midfielder mid-season. If Spurs really are open to accepting an initial loan offer for Hojbjerg, then it just showcases that they are eager to offload the Dane.
He was once a fixed starter for every manager who managed Tottenham after he was signed from Southampton. But Ange Postecoglou doesn’t seem to prefer him at all, with his only meaningful playing time coming when others are injured or suspended.
It will be a good idea to offload him before his contract runs out and we risk losing him on a free transfer. Juve are also a huge club and an ideal location for him to reignite his career, which has stagnated since the former Celtic boss’ arrival in north London.
Of course, we have to be smart with the figure that we ask for. He is still in his prime years and a Premier League-proven player, which is, for many, one of the best and most competitive leagues in the world.

Moreover, James Maddison’s injury and Yves Bissouma’s suspension have served as reminders that we need to have a proper depth in midfield. We can’t sell senior players without ensuring that we have ample depth for the first-team starters.
