Oliver Skipp believes Tottenham Hotspur ‘fell into Everton’s trap’ during their 2-1 win

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp believes that the team ‘fell into Everton’s trap’ on Saturday. The Lilywhites have been enjoying a lot of success lately, they seem to have recovered after faltering earlier in the season.

Their last three games have been mostly comfortable and they have come away with a win in all 3. The closest and most exciting out of their recent games was the one against Everton that took place on Saturday.

Both teams were firing on all cylinders to find the back of the net. Tottenham came pretty close to losing the 2-0 lead that they took early on. But, they held on to it in the end and added three points to the board.

Oliver Skipp who was out there for the entire game against Everton recently shared his thoughts while talking to football.london. Although, he was happy about the win the 23-year-old said Tottenham ‘fell into Everton’s trap’ and hopes to improve upon it.

“We are not totally pleased with how we played and we fell into their trap as they pressed well throughout the game.”

He believes that Saturday’s game helped the players showcase another side of the team. Although they came away with three points the team will look to build on this performance.

Skipp himself had an excellent game. The English midfielder completed 92% of his 60 passes and even made two timely clearances for his team (fot.mob). Postecoglou will be happy to see all these young players step up in the absence of first-team seniors like James Maddison.
