Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou praises FC Bournemouth’s manager Andoni Iraola
According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou praises FC Bournemouth’s manager Andoni Iraola despite their win 3-1 over them.
Ange said:
“I keep saying I respect every manager and the way they go about it because I know how tough a job it is, whether that’s in the Premier League or anywhere else, but it’s obviously amplified here in the Premier League. We played Bournemouth at the weekend and I think there was similar criticism around Andoni’s work at the start of the year.”
Postecoglou is highly impressed with Bournemouth’s unwavering support for manager Andoni Iraola, despite a challenging start to the season.
Injuries have crippled Tottenham’s squad and the January transfer window will be vital, even if Postecoglou states that ‘nothing magical’ will happen. Nevertheless, he will not alter his perspective.
Iraola instructed his team to sustain their relentless press, drawing inspiration from his idol Marcelo Bielsa. Their persistence is finally being rewarded.
In the upcoming FA Cup match on Friday night, Postecoglou will face off against Kompany, a manager who has remained steadfast in his beliefs and playing style at Burnley, despite facing criticism.
Currently, the promoted Clarets are positioned second from the bottom in the Premier League table. In the match against the Cherries, Spurs took an early lead and maintained their dominance throughout. However, as the game approached its conclusion, tensions flared on the sidelines.
Alejo Veliz was advised by Postecoglou to seek treatment after sustaining an injury towards the end of the second half, which caused some disagreement among the Bournemouth staff. The coaches from both teams had a heated exchange on the sidelines, with some disagreements and physical contact between Postecoglou and his Bournemouth counterpart, Andoni Iraola. This led to a booking for the Spurs boss, as well as midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.
The incident added an extra layer of excitement to a match that had already been settled, and after the final whistle, Postecoglou playfully addressed the commotion.
