Manchester United might welcome six crucial players back to the squad against Tottenham Hotspur

According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United may see the return of six players from injury and illness for their upcoming Premier League match against Tottenham on Sunday.

While United manager Erik ten Hag had ruled the players out of contention for a return to the matchday squad, several options could change their position. Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen — Antony and Amad are among these players.

Ten Hag said:

“We have had a lot of injuries, so this week in training, the last couple of days, Licha Martinez training, Casemiro training, Luke Shaw training, so there are players returning. They are coming in for selection for Sunday.”

Shaw has been unable to play in the past three matches due to an undisclosed injury, Amad and Eriksen were not available for the FA Cup victory at Wigan due to illness, and Antony was sidelined with an injury.

Martinez and Casemiro are out for quite some time. Martinez had an operation for the injured metatarsal, and Casemiro was dealing with a hamstring injury.

Additionally, the manager of United revealed that Mason Mount, Tyrell Malacia, and Victor Lindelof are making good progress in their injury recoveries, not far behind the other six players. However, Anthony Martial remains unavailable for Manchester United as he continues to be evaluated by the club’s medical team.

Amid mounting frustrations at Old Trafford, Ange Postecoglou, the former Celtic manager, seems to have seamlessly settled into life at Tottenham. Spurs are currently six points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool after MD 20. We are also trailing second-placed Villa by three points and Manchester City, in third, by just one point.

In the case of updates from our side, Ben Davies is still going to be out for around a month because he has been afflicted by a hamstring issue although Giovani Lo Celso will also miss out due to muscle strain. It could be debut time for Radu Dragusin.
