Al-Nassr now looking to sign Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka after Tottenham Hotspur rejected Emerson Royal bid
According to The Telegraph (h/t Mirror), Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr are shifting their interest to Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka after Tottenham Hotspur rejected their bid for Emerson Royal.
The Brazilian signed from Barcelona in a £25.8m transfer in 2020 and has featured in 18 matches this season, starting nine of them. While talented, his inability to showcase the required levels on a regular basis remains a major concern.
Al-Nassr has shown a strong desire to strengthen their squad for the rest of the season. To make space for a new import, one of their lower-key foreign players will have to be “delisted.” Among others, hits included Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane and Aymeric Laporte and now they are considering signing a full-back before transfer deadline day.
We highly doubt Emerson will leave this late in the window. Tottenham could still do with his talents, at the very least to add strength in depth if not as a regular starter.
In our opinion, it seems a bit crazy to consider selling Emerson, who is an important player in the rotation and known for his ability to bring the team together. Spurs are still vulnerable to potential injuries, so we highly doubt this move will happen unless the Saudi PIF is willing to spend a significant amount of money. And even then it would feel somewhat unpleasant.
In other transfer news, there are ongoing discussions between Spurs and Club Brugge regarding Antonio Nusa. Additionally, Spurs are looking to sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, but they are only considering permanent deals, not temporary ones.

It appears evident that despite Spurs completing their business early in the window, there is still a possibility of more transfers being finalised before the end of the month.
