Brighton expresses their interest in Tottenham outcast Bryan Gil
Tottenham Hotspur star Bryan Gil could be a part of a ‘swap deal’ with Brighton, per Corierre dello Sport (h/t The Express). The 22-year-old left winger was expected to climb up the ladder under his new boss. The availability at the front row of the Spurs attack made Gil’s spot seem almost obvious.
However, Ange posting Timo Werner as a left winger and pursuing prodigy Antonio Nusa, for the same position, seems to be the last nail in the 22-year-old’s hopes.
The Spaniard missed a handful of season openers due to an illness. By the time he returned, Postecoglou had already found the right balance within the squad. Gil’s appearances were often limited to being a cameo upon return.
He has no goals or assists to his name yet and with the Spurs boss reducing his play time, there seems to be no chance too. A move away from home might help Bryan Gil to resurrect his career.
The ‘swap deal’ in the picture
Brighton’s interest in Gil should be a window for The Lilywhites to bargain for the Seagulls striker Evan Ferguson. Tottenham can use their outcast, Bryan Gil, to conjure a swap deal.
The North Londoners are still trying to fill Harry Kane’s shoes. Even though Richarlison’s recent form seems hopeful, the manager or the fans cannot be convinced about the Brazilian’s consistency.
Evan Ferguson is one of the top emerging talents in Europe currently. Aged 19, he is already a prolific goal scorer in the Premier League. Ferguson has amassed six goals and one assist from 19 PL games this season.
