Tottenham Hotspur to welcome either Vyes Bissouma or Pape Matar Sarr early
According to Football.London, there’s fantastic news for Tottenham Hotspur as either Yves Bissouma or Pape Matar Sarr will be making their return to the Spurs roster.
It is expected that Ange Postecoglou will have one of his key international players returning to Tottenham Hotspur in time for the Premier League match against Brighton.
This month, the Spurs manager has had to deal with various scenarios involving missing players. Son Heung-min has been serving the South Korean national service in Asian Cup competitions, meanwhile, Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr are representing Mali and Senegal at the African Cup of Nations. But both Mali and Senegal have passed the stage of groups, and are in the same knock-out bracket. They may likely meet each other in the quarterfinals on February 3rd.
Assuming that both make it through their first knockout stage matches, either Pape Matar Sarr or Yves Bissouma will be back in North London before Tottenham’s showdown with Brighton on 10 February. If both teams lose their stead early in the season, there is a chance that one or even both could bounce back before they visit Goodison Park to play Everton on February 3.
Referring to Sarr and Senegal, he played against Ivory Coast who struggled in their group phase. Interestingly, Ivory Coast elected to sack their head coach despite being able to progress out of the group stage as one of three third-place teams advancing past them. It can be seen that Bissouma may have an underlying illness or is still battling some sickness, but he will take on Burkina Faso in the Round of 16 on January 30th.
If either or both teams were to exit the tournament early, it would undoubtedly be a disappointment for the players, particularly Senegal, who have shown great potential and are considered one of the strongest teams in the competition.
