Tottenham are still in the running to sign Chelsea star Conor Gallagher

It seems like the Conor Gallagher saga with Tottenham Hotspur is still not over. The team has repeatedly been linked to a deal for the 23-year-old, however, a deal has always failed to materialize.

According to a new report from TBR Football, The Lilywhites are still in the running to sign the English midfielder. It is expected that the Spurs will try and complete a deal for the player before the winter transfer window shuts for good.

His form with Chelsea has led to a ton of clubs being interested in the player. In 28 appearances for the Blues, Gallagher is yet to score but has been brilliant in the middle line and has even recorded six assists.

Here’s what Daniel Levy had to say about the impending arrival of Gallagher. (h\t TBR Football)

“Tottenham have had a long standing interest (in Gallagher), Tottenham sold Harry Kane for pure profit and they have got the room to do stuff this month that other clubs haven’t.

While it is true that selling Harry Kane has resulted in a ton of money for the club, it is highly unlikely that the Blues will be ready to sell their captain during the middle of the season.

Moreover, whatever price tag Chelsea put forth for Gallagher will most likely reflect their rivalry with Tottenham. The Lilywhites will not be having an easy time signing the 23-year-old.

Ange Postecoglou might just be the manager that Tottenham have been waiting for all this time.

With how adamant Tottenham Hotspur have been about signing the Chelsea star, it is expected that they will make a move during the summer even if a winter transfer deal fails to materialise.
