Pundit singles out Tottenham star for 'moment of madness' for costing win vs Everton

Jermaine Jenas slams Dejan Kulusevski for giving Everton a chance to score late

Former Tottenham Hotspur player highlights Jermaine Jenas highlights Dejan Kulusevski‘s mistake that cost his team all three points, per BBC Sports. The Lilywhites had the opportunity to close the gap between them and the top three but blew the lead twice against The Toffees.

Tottenham had a rather quiet outing at Goodison Park and the pundit claims it has to be one of their worst performances of the season. The North Londoners conceded an injury-time equalizer despite grabbing an early lead. Jenas said:

“You have these moments of madness, which is what happened to Dejan Kulusevski at the end – he had the ball, and should have just smashed it up the pitch, but tried something, lost it, and then gave away a stupid foul that allowed Everton to whip the ball in and score.”

The Merseysiders played as if their life depended on it. The 10-point reduction has cost them dearly and Sean Dyche’s men now struggle in the relegation zone.

The questionable midfield

Jermaine Jenas highlighted the subpar performance from the Tottenham midfielders last evening. He pinpointed Rodrigo Bentancur, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, James Maddison, Brennan Johnson and Timo Werner. In fact, apart from Richarlison, most of the Spurs players had an evening to forget.

Everton are good with set-pieces, the only thing Tottenham should have been careful about but alas! Dejan Kulusevski’s mistimed tackle on James Garner opened up the opportunity that led towards Jarrad Branthwaite’s goal. Spurs had it coming as Everton were onto them for most of the second half.

Radu Dragusin, who was subbed on in the late minutes, had a close call with Beto. However, the referee’s decision left Sean Dyche and the home fans annoyed. Postecoglou seemed frustrated with his team whenever caught on camera.
