Ange Postecoglou shares positive injury news ahead of the Premier League game against Brighton
According to The Independent, Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou shares positive news ahead of the crucial fixture against Brighton Hove and Albion game in the Premier League. He confirmed that Spurs captain Heung-min Son is all set to begin the match against Brighton.
Postecoglou said:
“Sonny got back on Wednesday, did recovery on Thursday and trained with the team today. Biss trained, he obviously joined up as well this week. Definitely [ready to start]. They trained well.”
The trio’s comebacks coincide with the return of Micky van de Ven, James Maddison, and Rodrigo Bentancur from their respective injury spells. In the last four Premier League games, Spurs haven’t suffered a single defeat, bringing them within two points of securing qualification for the UEFA Champions League next season.
Both players have resumed training since returning to Spurs earlier this week, with Giovani Lo Celso spending the entire week on the pitch. The forward returned to Spurs’ Hotspur Way training ground on Wednesday, just 24 hours after a disappointing Asian Cup semi-final loss to Jordan. He received a warm welcome from his teammates and underwent a medical assessment by the staff.
Additionally, we’re receiving another boost as Yves Bissouma has returned to Spurs after Mali was eliminated from the Africa Cup of Nations. In their last outing, Brighton secured a 4-2 victory on their home turf. However, Roberto De Zerbi, their head coach, will be absent from the pitch due to his three yellow card suspension. Despite this, Postecoglou is confident that Albion’s approach will remain largely unchanged.
After a disappointing draw against Everton at Goodison Park last weekend, Spurs are determined to bounce back strongly. The London club seemed to be in control on Merseyside with a brace from Richarlison against his former side. However, the Toffees made a comeback with a Jarrad Branthwaite goal in injury time, resulting in a shared outcome.
