Dele Alli visited his former home after two years for the Brighton clash
Former Tottenham Hotspur favourite, Dele Alli, was spotted in the stands during the Spurs versus Brighton clash, according to the video released by The Sun. Alli was seen at his former home two years after leaving the club.
The home fans had two reasons to cheer for during the weekend. Apart from Dele Alli’s presence, they also witnessed a stunning comeback from the Lilywhites. Brennan Johnson’s injury-time goal helped Tottenham grab three crucial points.
Dele Alli left Tottenham in January 2022. He spent nearly seven years at the club, evolving as a ‘fan favourite’. The English midfielder’s career graph was high for the first three seasons. Alli’s 2018/19 campaign was below par as per his standards. From there on, it was a downhill for the Everton man.
Recurring injuries and falling out of Mourinho’s favour forced the midfielder to look for new opportunities. Everton took the chance to land him, but things didn’t work out in their favour. Alli was loaned to Besiktas almost immediately.
The ‘drama’ witness by Dele Alli
We just did a quick recap of Alli’s career. The loan at Besiktas ended in April 2023 as the former Tottenham player picked up a groin injury. He is now back with Everton, nursing his setback. However, Dele Alli’s unfortunate career trajectory is not the drama that is being referred to here.
Alli witnessed a late comeback drama that evening at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. While the media and some fans might compliment Tottenham’s ‘fight back’ mentality, it can also be labelled a lapse in defensive abilities.
It isn’t the first time that Spurs needed a late drama to come home with a win. More than being the ‘comeback kings’, it is certain that Ange would like a safe game from his men.

The club will endure a tough remainder of the season where each point could make or break their dreams. As Spurs fans, let us hope there will be no shortage of entertainment but also anxiety-inducing games where only an injury-time goal will be the medicine.
