London rivals are on the look-out to land Wolves’ Pedro Neto with Tottenham also keen
Tottenham Hotspur are pursuing Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers, per The Sun. The media outlet reports that Wolves aim to finance their summer dealings by selling the A-list star.
Pedro Neto has 13 goal involvements from 18 games across all competitions for Gary O’Neil. The Wolves are on the brink of breaching the Profit and Sustainability Rules. The manager needs a striker, a centre-half a new winger (Neto’s replacement), and above all, he needs funds.
Neto is the most-priced asset in O’Neil’s possession so selling him is the most viable option for the manager. The Portuguese would have found a ‘better home’ in England if not for his injuries. Apart from Tottenham, long-term admirers, Arsenal are also on the pursuit.
Neto’s market value is said to be €42 million according to Transfermarkt. Considering his current form, the price tag should skyrocket by the end of the season.
Neto’s injury woes
Pedro Neto is every buyer’s dream at the moment. The skilful and selfless winger is the epitome of a playmaker. Ange Postecoglou could deploy him to aid Richarlison at the opposition’s final third.
However, the 23-year-old has been unfortunate to endure several crippling injuries lately. During the 2020/21 season, the Portuguese sustained a knee injury that kept him out of action nearly for the entire season. He picked up an ankle injury in October 2022 that saw him sidelined for 127 days!
The 2023/24 campaign had no different plans as the Wolves starman missed 58 games due to a hamstring injury. Despite his constant encounters with injury, Neto’s form hasn’t left him. Tottenham
has their own nightmares with injury this season.More Tottenham Hotspur News-
