Ange Postecoglou says Son Heung-min is a true leader following his altercation with Kang-in Lee
Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou says Heung-min Son is a true leader while talking about his captain’s rumoured fight with Kang-in Lee. The Aussie’s comments were shared by Italian journo Fabrizio Romano. Here’s what the Lilywhites gaffer said:
“Leadership is not about being popular and trying to make everybody happy, it’s about when you see something that you don’t feel is right then you stand up for it because it’s the best thing for the group. I see that in Sonny”.
Postecoglou also revealed that he does not know much details about the incident but he knows that Son was reflecting on his responsibilities of being the leader. The former Celtic boss backed his starman by saying Sonny is a positive guy who likes to win.
The Tottenham boss has no reason to worry about the South Korean international’s availability as he is fit to play. The only noticeable change is the tape on his fingers.
Breaking down the ‘rumour’
Korean Football News shared via Twitter about the fight that broke out between South Korea captain Heung-min Son and PSG’s Kang-in Lee over the ‘ping pong incident’. It is said that a few young players, including Lee, rushed to finish the routine team dinner to play table tennis.
The noisy play and ditching the team dinner in a hurry did not sit well with the captain. Son grabbed the 22-year-old’s collar and the latter threw a fist at the Spurs man in retaliation. The scuffle saw Son end up with a busted finger.
He was seen with a taped index and middle fingers in the semifinal loss against Jordan. The tape was seen upon his return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as well.
