Tottenham Hotspur are ready to break the bank for Barcelona star

As reported by Spanish publication SPORT, Tottenham Hotspur are now in the running to sign Barcelona star, Raphinha. The Brazilian winger is said to be a top target for the club who are currently in the market for a solid winger.

To make things even better the Brazilian winger is an ex-PL star himself. He was very highly rated during his stint with Leeds United and recorded a total of 17 goals and 12 assists throughout 67 games. Since he has PL experience under his belt, Ange Postecoglou will not have to wait a long time before Raphinha adjusts to the intensity of English football.

Sport has also reported that Tottenham are ready to pay north of €70m to get a deal done for the 27-year-old. The Spurs have also been linked with another Barcelona star, Frenkie De Jong.

Also worth mentioning is the Catalan club’s poor financial position. Barca are in a lot of debt and if Tottenham make an offer worth their time, they can pressure them into selling Raphinha. It seems like some major changes are on the horizon for the Lilywhites.

It seems like the management wishes to make improvements at every position in Postecoglou’s squad. However, we’re not sure if the Brazilian would necessarily be an improvement. While there is no doubt about his quality as a player, his injury susceptibility could be a cause for concern.

Leeds United could sell Raphinha amidst Tottenham Hotspur interest.
Raphinha’s return to the Premier League seems imminent.
