Eden Hazard says Tottenham is not better than Chelsea
Chelsea’s favourite boy Eden Hazard took a jibe at Tottenham Hotspur while speaking to Mikel John Obi. The short video clip was shared by the latter’s podcast channel via X (formerly Twitter). The duo were talking in Mikel’s podcast called The Obi One Podcast.
The ‘taunt’ towards the rivals from two of their legends has got Chelsea fans flooding the comments section. Hazard was comparing the other Premier League teams with the current Chelsea team, that’s when the Tottenham Hotspur topic came in. This is what he said:
“But the Premier League is so hard. You know, now I think, Manchester City, they are better than Chelsea. Liverpool, they are better than Chelsea.”
Mikel John Obi tried to help Hazard complete the list by suggesting Tottenham’s name but Hazard was quick to deny. He said:
“No, no, Tottenham, no. They play good football, but you know Tottenham.”
The Belgian also jokingly warned Mikel that as a Chelsea legend, he shouldn’t have suggested Tottenham’s name.
The streets won’t forget
The podcast has helped fans reminisce about Eden Hazard’s glorious Premier League days. He emerged to be one of the best dribbles and playmakers in the history of the sport.
Hazard left Chelsea for Real Madrid as a legend but failed to replicate his reputation and form at the Spanish capital. The Belgian retired after unsuccessful attempts to revive himself with the Blancos.
However, his legacy lives on! While Tottenham fans thought they wouldn’t be haunted by Hazard anymore, here comes the former Chelsea man to do it in a new way. However, this time, from outside the pitch.
The duo also spoke about Tottenham’s chances to win the Premier League title. The host (Mikel) emphasized: “I’m not saying they (Spurs) are gonna with the league though”. To which Eden Hazard responded, “For sure!”
