Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane might miss the friendly fixture if England wins the Euros
According to The Sun, former Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane might miss the game in South Korea where Spurs will be taking on Bayern Munich in a friendly game.
When Kane made the move from North London to Bavaria, it was widely believed that his long-awaited trophy win would finally come. However, the chances of that happening are becoming slim, as the scenario at the Allianz Arena is spiralling out of control.
If Gareth Southgate’s team reaches the final – or even emerges victorious – on July 14, the star forward would likely skip the event in South Korea to take a break after the tournament. Advancing to the semi-finals could potentially eliminate him from the competition as well.
Similarly, this applies to other players from both Spurs and Bayern who are participating in the later stages of the Euros and Copa America, both happening this summer. Bayern Munich are currently facing tough competition in the Bundesliga from Bayer Leverkusen and are also at risk of elimination from the Champions League. Kane’s performance is starting to decline as well.
There’s a possibility that Kane will choose to remain at Bayern this summer and carry on with his new journey, even if Thomas Tuchel’s team doesn’t perform well in the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
Kane’s main challenge is that the Bayern team he joined is different from the one in previous years. The arrival of the England skipper was touted as the missing piece of the puzzle, yet the reality reveals significant weaknesses throughout the squad. At the beginning of the month, he marked his 28th goal for Bayern after departing Tottenham last summer.
