Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou trumps Arsenal counterpart Mikel Arteta to the Manager of the Year gong at the London Football Awards

Ange Postecoglou has taken major steps forward in his quest to making Tottenham Hotspur a team to be reckoned with. His project at the N-17 stadium looks an exciting one and we have seen enough of it this season to know its the real deal.

Since moving from Scotland in the summer the Australian coach has been making impressions in the Premier League. He has turned Tottenham into top four contenders this season after a horrendous 2022-23 season. Tottenham Hotspur finished eighth last season and it will come as a bottle job should we fail to secure a top four finish this time around.

Spurs currently are fifth in the Premier League table and five points behind fourth placed Aston Villa. It will be Tottenham’s only focus for the ongoing season after early exits from Carabao Cup and FA Cup. Tottenham did not quality for Europe this season and are already out of all cup competitions. We can now focus all our attentions on finishing as high as possible in the Premier League.

Golden reward for Ange!

Postecoglou has been rewarded for his really good start at life with Tottenham. According to The Mirror, the Australian coach has beaten Mikel Arteta to the Manager of the Year gong at the London Football Awards despite Mikel seeing Arsenal into two successive title challenges. The Gunners are third in the Premier League table only two points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool and a point behind Manchester City in second.

Alongside Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, West Ham manager David Moyes, Chelsea Women’s head coach Emma Hayes who is about to leave her role in the offseason and Leyton Orient’s Richie Wellens were the other managers nominated for the award.

Guglielmo Vicario was also awarded for his brilliance with gloves. The Italian picked up the Goalkeeper of the Year award after settling in seamlessly to life in North London. Arsenal’s Declan Rice won the Premier League Player of the Year for the second time. He received the award from his captain and last year’s winner Martin Odegaard. Declan Rice has slotted into the life just miles down the road following his £105million move to Arsenal.
