NBA icon Steve Nash reveals his dad taught him ‘subtleties’ of basketball using Tottenham legend as reference point

Steve Nash says his dad used to refer to Glenn Hoddle to teach him important lessons

Former NBA superstar and coach Steve Nash says his dad used Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle to teach him the subtleties of the game. Nash was in conversation with Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski in a segment shared by the club’s official YouTube channel.

Dejan Kulusevski asked Steve Nash if the latter has any favourite player from Tottenham. Nash responded:

“My hero growing up was Glenn Hoddle. He had incredible skill, vision, and was charismatic. Whenever he was on the ball, he was able to change the game. My father used him to teach me the subtleties of the game.”

Steve Nash says he has been a Tottenham fan from his youth days due to his father and his family hailing from Tottenham. He recalled waking up early as a little boy to watch Tottenham’s games with his grandfather.
