Kyle Walker shows Tottenham roots as he takes a dig at Arsenal

Despite having left Tottenham Hotspur all those years ago, Kyle Walker still seems to have a lot of love for his former club.

The three Premier League giants- Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City, are all vying to win the Premier League title with a marginal difference between them at the head of the table.

Despite never having won at Anfield, personally, Kyle Walker displayed his loyalty to former club Tottenham by taking a dig at their rivals, Arsenal.

The veteran defender appeared in a fighting talk appearance on Rio Ferdinand’s FIVE YouTube channel (h/t Metro). Before the match, he admitted that he would rather see Liverpool win instead of Arsenal.

He was caught saying,

“It’s so hard, I don’t want Arsenal (to win) because of Tottenham”. This was a heartwarming moment for fans when Ferdinand asked him if he still had a soft spot for Spurs. The answer he received made it evident that he did because he did not want Arsenal.

When he was asked if he was impressed by Arsenal’s game play recently, he answered saying, with a grin that made it evident that he was still very much on Arsenal’s bad side given his love for Spurs.

“I think you’ve taken our assistant coach as your manager.”

He was, however, kind enough to commend the team for what it was doing right. He was very impressed by Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus, and believes they are wonderful players. Moreover, Walker called Arsenal the better team after their Emirates win. He was, however, not opposed to pointing out that they still have a long way to go.

While Walker might have departed from Tottenham, it is wonderful to see his support. It is definite that he owes a lot of his success to Spurs. It is, therefore, not surprising that he holds onto that loyalty and does not give in to the rivals. The Spurs do go marching on!
