Tottenham star Radu Dragusin enjoying life in London
Two months on since he joined Tottenham, Radu Dragusin has been enjoying life in North London. The 22-year-old centre-back, who joined Spurs amid lots of interest from Bayern Munich, has made four appearances for Ange Postecoglou’s side so far.
While he has four appearances to boot, all of those total up to only 49 minutes of game time, most of it coming in the recent 4-0 win against Aston Villa (A). While has been impressing manager Ange Postecoglou (The Athletic – subscription required), minutes are tough to come by for the big man.
Micky van de Ven’s unfortunate injury saw Dragusin step in and gather the most minutes of his Tottenham career so far. Apart from the game against Villa, he has made appearances of five, two and one minute in the games against Manchester United, Brentford and Everton respectively.
Dragusin for the Lilywhites!
However, with the competition for places in the heart of Tottenham’s defence fierce, Dragusin faces an uphill battle to establish himself as a regular starter. Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are the obvious first choices while even Emerson Royal has been putting in strong shifts in central defence in the absence of the first-choice players.
Radu now has a chance to put up a proper fight in the absence of Micky and challenge him for a spot in the starting XI alongside Cuti.
As he continues to acclimate to life in the English capital, Dragusin remains focused on his development as a player and his contribution to Tottenham’s ambitions on the pitch.
