Richarlison warns James Maddison ahead of Brazil vs England Clash
Tottenham duo Richarlison and James Maddison will come up against each other when England plays Brazil on Saturday.
Both of them are experiencing an excellent campaign at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the Brazilian has warned his club counterpart that he will put on the same level of performance when his side faces the Three Lions.
Brazil faces England at the Wembley Stadium in a friendly fixture which will be the Three Lions’ penultimate fixture ahead of the upcoming Euro 2024 but if you know Richarlison, he will put everything on the pitch to win, irrespective of the game’s friendly status.
Former Everton striker joined the international camp earlier this week and is training at Arsenal’s Sobha Realty Training Centre as the 26-year-old spoke to CBF about his delight to be back in Brazil’s squad under Dorival Junior as Richarlison looks to prove his credentials to new boss.
In his interview, Richarlison was quizzed about facing his club team-mate James Maddison at the weekend where he asserted about already warning the Englishman that there will be no friendliness once Ref blows that first whistle.
“I’ve even told [James] Maddison that there’s no such thing as friendship on the field. I hope we can play a great game and, preferably, with a victory,” Richarlison said.
Richarlison is the favourite to start in the number nine position for Brazil at the weekend, especially with his striking competition Gabriel Jesus left out of the squad.
