Spurs target Raphinha doesn’t want Barca exit

Tottenham Hotspur target Raphinha does not want to leave Barcelona in the upcoming summer transfer window according to a report by Sport.

The Catalonia-based club needs to make at least a couple of noteworthy sales in the summer to comply with Financial Fair Play rules and Brazilian winger Raphinha has been named as a potential sacrificial lamb that the club intends to cash in on in the summer.

Rather than losing top-tier prospects like Gavi or Pedri, complemented by any guaranteed starters viz. Ronald Araujo and Frenkie de Jong – The Clues would rather sell fringe players in the squad and that is where the name of Former Leeds winger takes centre stage.

The 27-year-old has 37 goal contributions in 78 appearances since he moved to Barcelona and hasn’t done much wrong in his two years at the club but the blooming of Lamine Yamal from La Masia raises questions about Raphinha’s place in the squad.

Premier League clubs in Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, and Manchester United are ready to take Raphinha back to England although he doesn’t want to part ways with Barcelona just yet. Alongside English top-tier interest, Saudi Arabian clubs have also expressed interest in Raphinha having tabled an offer over €80 million for the Brazilian.

Despite interest from various clubs, he remains intent on continuing his journey with Barcelona.

Raphinha does NOT want to move away from his beloved Barca

Raphinha has endured a tough season at Camp Nou with injury concerns complemented by the emergence of Lamine Yamal which has pushed him down in the pecking order. Although he has now started and put in impressive performances in two successive important games against Napoli and Atletico Madrid.

His services could be used in multiple facets of this Barca squad and officials at the club need to wait for the next manager before making such decisions. Raphinha is a player who can make big impacts and create big moments when the odds are against him, which is why Barcelona shouldn’t let a player with his capacity leave without a keen discussion.

Raphinha at Tottenham, a potential

Can Tottenham afford to sign Raphinha from Barcelona?

Tottenham Hotspur need someone who possesses such talent with the ball on the wings. Ange Postecoglou likes his wingers to receive the ball on the outside and carry it into narrow spaces from where they can make an impactful pass. That is what Raphinha used to do in the Premier League for Leeds consistently.

Spurs have Dejan Kulusevski playing on the right wing this season, he is a player very similar to the Brazilian in terms of how he carries the ball and the intent with which he impacts the game – but the latter is slicker and can cause nightmares to opponents defence in no time.

However it is to be seen if Raphinha leaves Barcelona, and if so, whether Tottenham can outbid Saudi clubs to land his services.
