Tottenham Hotspur will have to fight Liverpool for the signature of 26-year-old PL defender.

As reported by Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are both showing an interest in Tosin Adarabioyo. The 26-year-old Premier League defender is currently playing for Fulham but his contract runs out at the end of the summer.

The Lilywhites are looking to add some depth to their defensive line and there could be nothing better for that than a free transfer. Tosin is a decent player and will go a long way towards reinforcing the bench.

However, Jurgen Klopp‘s Liverpool will not make it easy for the Spurs. The Reds will be playing Champions League football next season, which might not be true for Tottenham. Ange Postecoglou’s squad is currently fourth in the Premier League.

Even though they have a game in hand over Aston Villa, both teams have the same amount of points. If the Lilywhites slip up and Villa takeover Liverpool will gain an advantage in the pursuit of Tosin.

But, it has to be asked whether signing the 26-year-old even on a free deal will be a good move. Tosin has missed 15 games due to injury this season. If you’ve followed the Spurs this season you will know just how much they have struggled with injuries.

At one point things got so bad that Ange Postecoglou was deploying his fullbacks at CB just to have some sort of defensive line. So, signing Adarabioyo who is another injury risk might not be the best move available to the team.
