Tottenham keen to acquire highly-rated Giorgiy Sudakov this summer
Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a summer move for the highly-rated attacking midfielder Giorgiy Sudakov, who has drawn comparisons to Manchester City’s star player, Phil Foden. The North London club is seriously considering making a move for the talented playmaker, as they look to bolster their midfield options ahead of the upcoming season.
That is as per Ben Jacobs via CaughtOffside. While Tottenham are keen on securing Sudakov’s services, they face competition from Serie A giants Inter Milan and Juventus. However, both Italian clubs could see themselves hindered by budget constraints, potentially giving Spurs the edge in pursuing the Ukrainian international.
Sudakov has emerged as a top target for Tottenham as they search for an attacking midfielder who can thrive in Ange Postecoglou’s system. The 23-year-old has impressed with his performances for Shakhtar Donetsk this season, contributing seven goals and three assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.
Despite the interest from several clubs, Shakhtar are in no hurry to part ways with Sudakov and are likely to demand a significant fee for his services. Reports suggest that it could take at least €70m to convince the Ukrainian club to sell their prized asset, reflecting his rising value in the current market.
In addition to Sudakov, Tottenham are also monitoring Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher as another potential option to bolster their midfield ranks. The Blues’ midfielder has captained the side on multiple occasions and has easily been one of their best performers this season.
Securing a player of Sudakov’s calibre would undoubtedly bolster their attacking options and add creativity to their midfield, complementing the talents of their existing squad and providing much-needed backup for James Maddison.
