Bargain or Bidding War? Tottenham face increased competition for Gudmundsson
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Genoa forward Albert Gudmundsson for a while now, alongside Inter Milan, and another Italian giant, Juventus, are ready to join the race for the 26-year-old’s signatures, per Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
The Iceland forward has scored fifteen goals and recorded four assists in 32 games for Alberto Gilardino’s side in the ongoing campaign. Juventus interest was also reported by Football. London a while back. He has been one of the better stars coming out of the Italian Premier Division this season.
While all three clubs tap into a potential acquisition of the 26-year-old, Genoa are expecting a fee between £21.5 million and £26 million for letting go of Gudmundsson’s services this summer. At this fee in the current market, with the potential he is showing, it would come as a bargain if Tottenham were to snap his signatures up.
Italian Job continued at Tottenham Hotspur?
The influence of Patrici at Tottenham is evident, as the club has operated extensively in the Italian market for the last two years. The Lilywhites have signed the likes of Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, and Rodrigo Bentancur from Atalanta and Juventus, respectively, at the commencement of the 2021/22 season. The North Londoners also brought in Ivan Perisic and Destiny Udogie for 2022/23 from Udinese and Inter Milan, while the former was signed on a free transfer.
Tottenham have also signed Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli in the summer and Radu Drăgușin from Genoa in the January transfer window.
In Albert Gudmundsson, the club would be acquiring a high-potential player who is in top form and can feature in multiple positions.
Although Juventus can ruin a potential Spurs player’s services, A report from Tuttosport claims that the Bianconeri are also interested in bringing the former AZ Alkmaar striker to Turin. They anticipate that the Italian giants have a proper plan to land their services.
