Next big thing on Spurs radar? Tottenham Hotspur target Spanish winger Nico Williams

Tottenham Hotspur have been subject to links for Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, and journalist John Wenham believes that signing the 21-year-old is a “no-brainer.”.

Spurs have emerged as one of the contenders to land one of the most exciting wingers in world football, and any deal that could bring the Spaniard to North London will be commendable. Backing the links to N17, owner of popular and reliable Tottenham podcast Lilywhite Rose has heaped praise on Spurs target. Speaking to Tottenham Hotspur News in an exclusive piece, Wenham said:

“His £42.8 million buyout clause is incredibly affordable for a team of Tottenham’s financial standing,” Wenham was quoted as saying.

“Williams is a player with immense talent, huge potential, and somebody who is starting for Spain and will be looking to go to the Euros this summer. In this current market, we’re talking about a £60 million-plus player, and he is available for just over £40 million, so this deal is a no-brainer for me.”

There is no doubt about the potential that Nico Williams possesses. He is fast and can dribble on the front foot, something we have seen Ange Postecoglou do in his short time at Spurs. While having him would certainly come at a hefty transfer price tag, the recent financial success of the club means that paying a £42.8 million buyout clause would not be a problem.

This is setting up to become an exciting transfer links to follow through till summer.
