Frustrated Giovani Lo Celso linked with Betis return after struggles at Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has been subject to links with a move away from the Lilywhites, with Spanish side Real Betis eyeing his signatures in the upcoming summer window.
The Argentine midfielder signed for the North Londoners and reached an agreement with Real Betis to sign Giovani Lo Celso for a club record-equalling fee of €60 million (£55.3 million) in the summer of 2019.
While there were great hopes from him in the Spurs midfield, the 28-year-old was unable to reproduce his success in Spain and quickly found himself becoming a bit-parts player at the N17. He did enjoy a couple of successful loan periods away from the Lilywhites with Villarreal.
While there were expectations that he would rejuvenate his career at Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou, He did look like he would redeem himself following his performances in the pre-season; however, the Argentine has seen minutes hard to come by under the Australian gaffer this season. Lo Celso has made 19 appearances in all competitions this season while registering two goals and two assists.
