Crooks warns Spurs to beware of Odegaard magic in crucial North London Derby
Tottenham Hotspur are set to face Arsenal in the North London Derby on Sunday, and BBC football pundit Garth Crooks has asked the Lilywhites to be wary of one Arsenal star who can make a dent in Spurs top-four challenge hopes when they come shoulder to shoulder with Mikel Arteta’s side.
Ange Postecoglou & Co. possibly had the worst display since the Australian gaffer took over the reins at White Hart Lane when they last played as Newcastle United tactically outclassed Spurs at St. James Park. Tottenham would have to avoid another similar display; this time the outpour would be far and wide as the Gunners visited N17.
One team that a Tottenham supporter marks on their schedule the day when fixtures are released is Arsenal. The North London Derby means more than other games, and the squad is expected to play it with more intensity, fight, and mettle than other games.
N17 braces for battle as Odegaard leads Arsenal to White Hart Lane
Arsenal are enjoying a wonderful campaign under Mikel Arteta as they vie for Premier League title contention going into the end of the season. They have shown great progress under the Spaniard’s tutelage, and they have players that can hurt Tottenham with a minute of room for error. Their skipper, Martin Odegaard, is one of those players.
Odegaard has been enjoying an impressive campaign, and he can hurt teams with his passes, through-balls, dribbles, pressing, feints, and just about everything. Wolves saw that last weekend, and Tottenham have to be on their toes for him. That is what BBC football pundit Garth Crooks thinks as well, as he writes in his Team of the Week column:
“Now the scene is set for the Gunners’ big showdown next Sunday against Spurs. The atmosphere will be febrile as usual, but with Odegaard in the side, Arsenal may come out of this encounter with their title hopes still very much intact.”
