England U21 star on the move? Iling-Junior attracts interest from Tottenham Hotspur

There have been reports concerning Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in highly rated Juventus and England Under-21 winger Samuel Iling-Junior, per Metro.

He moved to Italy in 2020, although he has roots at Chelsea’s Cobham academy.

Tottenham recently changed their transfer approach as Daniel Levy intends to bring high-end young players to White Hart Lane who can be shaped as per Ange Postecoglou’s long-term needs. A highly-rated winger who has got all of Europe laying red carpet fits that description as Spurs look to bring the 20-year-old back to England.

Samuel Iling-Junior has 21 League appearances under his name this season; however, he has started just a few of those games and has only aggregated 570 minutes of playing time under Massimiliano Allegri this season. This leads him to seek pastures somewhere else, a place where his development could churn out into minutes.

There are expectations that the former Chelsea academy starlet will bid adieu to his current employers and could move back to England, per Matteo Moretto in Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing. However, it is not just Premier League clubs that want to sign him; he has suitors in the Bundesliga as well as Serie A.

As of now, no team has gained any sprint lead to his signatures, and this is something the North Londoners could take advantage of going into the off-season.

Writing in Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing, Moretto wrote:

“It’s true that there are various teams that want him, some from the Premier League and the Bundesliga, some in Italy too, but above all abroad. There is no one team leading the race, though. His agents and Juventus have to speak, but he could end up being sold. My feeling is that Illing-Junior will look for the right offer, and if that arrives, then he will leave. It looks tricky for him to remain at Juventus in a season where he has started just two Serie A games. He could also be a player Juventus tries to use in a swap deal.”

It will be interesting if the Lilywhites continue to pursue his signatures going into the summer. It could turn out to be an interesting race to follow.
