Fulham star Tosin Adarabioyo makes transfer decision amidst Tottenham interest
Tottenham Hotspur have been subject to interest in Tosin Adarabioyo for a summer acquisition, and the Lilywhites target has reportedly made the ‘final decision’ on his future, per Football.London.
The North Londoners have a need for a new central defender going into the off-season. Daniel Levy and the officials at Spurs have to ensure giving Ange Postecoglou some squad depth going into the next season as the Australian gaffer looks to build on his progress at the N17. The former Celtic boss has to make do with full-backs playing in the heart of the defence as fillers at some point this season, and he would want to have formidable depth in the season to follow.
Spurs did sign Radu Dragusin in January from Genoa in a £26.7 million (€31 million) deal with the Italian club after the Romanian international chose to join the North Londoners over Bayern Munich. However, the Lilywhites are expected to push through on a new defensive acquisition this summer.
Fulham talks stall amidst transfer speculation
Spurs have now been looking to make a move for the Fulham defender, whose contract at Craven Cottage expires at the conclusion of the ongoing season. The former Manchester City academy graduate moved to Fulham in 2020, has racked up about a hundred Premier League appearances, and has established himself as one of the top-tier defenders in the English first division. However, the 26-year-old is expected to seek new pastures in the offseason, per transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
Adarabioyo has been in discussions with Fulham about a possible contract extension; however, the pair haven’t been able to make any progress despite the Cottagers offering a significant pay rise to his current contract.
With only about a month left until the conclusion of the ongoing season, Tosin Adarabioyo has decided to move on.
Alongside Tottenham, Manchester United are also interested in landing Tosin, as both clubs look for a potential bargain and invest the saved funds in other positions.
