Spurs eye Ukrainian starlet Giorgi Sudakov in summer transfer window
Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs vying for interest in Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Giorgi Sudakov as they look to make a move for the 21-year-old in the upcoming summer transfer window.
A move for the Ukrainian midfielder would fit into the newly adapted transfer policy at White Hart Lane. Daniel Levy & Co. are looking to bring high-potential young players who they can shape as per Ange Postecoglou’s long-term needs. Spurs are looking at an untapped market in Ukraine to bring in young players before they become a known entity among the European elite.
The North Londoners recently met with the 21-year-old’s representatives, per the Mirror, to discuss a potential deal for the upcoming summer.
Any deal for Giorgi Sudakov would not come cheap, as the midfield maestro recently penned down a new contract with the Ukrainian giants. His new contract has a whopping release clause of £127.7 million, a rather unrealistic prospect for the 21-year-old who has scored eight goals and has three assists in 31 appearances this season.
Tottenham Hotspur meet with agent of Shakhtar Donetsk’s Giorgi Sudakov
Sudakov has been represented by Ukrainian agency ProStar and has been floated to a number of European elites for a possible summer move. Vadym Shablii, his agent, was in North London on Wednesday and posed for a pitchside picture at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as he continues discussions with European elites with summer around the corner.
While the North Londoners seem keen to secure Sudakov’s services, Shakhtar aims to start a bidding war on the player. Alongside Spurs, the likes of Juventus and Napoli are also eyeing the 21-year-old’s services. The latter had a £34 million offer for Sudakov rejected out of hand this winter.
