Curtain call at White Hart Lane? Hojbjerg’s time at Tottenham nears end
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is not expected to continue at White Hart Lane beyond the ongoing season owing to a lack of playing time under the new boss, and to aid his exit, the Dane midfielder has appointed a new agent, per TEAMtalk.
Hojbjerg signed for Tottenham in 2020 in a £15 million move from Southampton when Jose Mourinho was in charge of the club. Although his time at the club could be coming to a conclusion as his frustrations grow while sitting on the bench at N17, He has enjoyed spells integral to Spurs midfield under previous managers; however, the 28-year-old has failed to do so under the Australian boss.
The former Bayern Munich midfielder has featured in 33 Premier League games this season; however, he has started only seven of those and aggregated only about eleven hundred minutes of top-tier football under his belt.
With his contract at White Hart Lane coming to an end at the end of next season, Tottenham would be looking to redeem his services rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.
AC Milan, Juventus, Atletico Madrid circle Hojbjerg as Tottenham exit looms
The 28-year-old has attracted interest from beyond England for a move once the season calls curtains. Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus are looking to fly the Danish maestro to Italy, with reports suggesting the former is looking to add to the fringe players they have signed from the Premier League and is trying to bring their barely-seen qualities to San Siro. It is an approach that has worked quite well for the Milan Reds. To name a few, Olivier Giroud, Christian Pulisic, Fikayo Tomori, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have all enjoyed successful times at Milan following moves from the Premier League, as Hojbjerg may follow.
Alongside the aforementioned clubs, Atletico Madrid have also revived their interest in signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer.
