Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham will not roll over for Manchester City
Tottenham Hotspur have finally found the victorious path once again ahead of their midweek clash vs Manchester City. Following a series of four losses, the confidence was at the lowest it has been this season, but great teams are defined by how they come back amid adversity, and Spurs have come back with three points against Burnley as they look to salvage something out of the season.
Spurs were in a top-four race with Aston Villa, albeit with four losses. Many thought that objective was out of reach. However, if the North Londoners catch a wave and ride it out, they could still sneak in past Unai Emery’s side as we head into the last week of the season.
While many suggested the Lilywhites could end up deciding the Premier League champions this season, they still can despite the tricky form off late. Spurs still host Manchester City, and they have to play for their own blood against the Cityzens, as a win over them could end up being critical in the top-four chase. Any dropped point could be considered the end of Spurs Champions League dreams.
Postecoglou unfazed as Tottenham aim for City scalp despite top-four doubts
Tottenham hosts Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on Tuesday, and Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou was quizzed about facing the Manchester Blues on Tuesday night. The Australian gaffer acknowledged how City and Arsenal are the two best teams in the competition and how Spurs have to try to replicate that benchmark. He also went on to say that the North Londoners will come out and give it a crack to take all three points on Tuesday night.
In his post-game presser today, Postecoglou said (via. Football.London):
‘I think we’ve got what it takes to make a game of it, play our football, and see where that takes us. They’re an outstanding team, and they and Arsenal are the benchmarks of the competition right now. They’re 20-odd points ahead of us, and we’ve got some ground to make up, but it’s at our place; it’s 95 minutes of football, and we’re going to have a crack.”

A win against City could be a massive boost to the confidence of the squad and the supporters going into the summer, and Ange would want to finish the season on a high. While we have been City’s bogey team in recent years, it is perhaps disheartening that the team that will benefit from us winning will be arch-rivals Arsenal.
