Tottenham join race to sign Brest’s rising star Bradley Locko

Tottenham Hotspur are looking at adding depth to their defensive options this summer, and the North Londoners have expressed interest in Brest defender Bradley Locko, per Football Insider.

Bradley Locko is a left-back by trade, and it is a position that the Spurs have been looking to improve in the off-season. The Lilywhites have been struggling to put a natural left-back on the field for the business end of the season following the injury to first-choice LB Destiny Udogie.

While Udogie is a mainstay in the position, it is important to ensure that the roster has enough depth and quality to fill in for the Italian international in case of injury or a spell of tough form. While Ben Davies didn’t do that this season, this has sparked conversations in the back room about adding a new left-back to the arsenal available to Ange Postecoglou.

Interest in Bradley Locko ticks Spurs transfer policy off-late. The 22-year-old fits into the North Londoners’ recent policy of signing high-potential youngsters who can be shaped as per Ange Postecoglou’s long-term needs.

Any move for Bradley Locko would not come easy, as the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Aston Villa, West Ham, Crystal Palace, and Tottenham have been scouting his services. All the aforementioned clubs sent scouts to France to watch the Brest defender on Friday as the Premier League clubs weigh up the possibility of signing him this summer.

The Frenchman is enjoying an impressive season, having helped Brest in their conquest of Champions League football as the French club closes on their objective of playing among European elites. His tally of three assists in 33 league games is a decent contribution beyond what he brings to the table with his defensive abilities.

The report suggests that the 22-year-old’s current employers would be open to selling him to the highest bidder in the summer window.
